how do I enroll my student?

Please click the enroll my student and fill out the form. After that, the form will be reviewed by one of our teachers. you will be placed on a waiting list as we gather a class of similar skill and age.

where do I get instruments?

There are many places to buy or rent instruments. Certain places have rent-to-own programs as well. In some cases, instruments are available through Westec.

what are practice and performances like

Practice is a daily activity. On occasion, students will be asked to keep a practice log or fill out a chart of home practice. It is important that everyone in the household understands this need, and should work with the student and parent to adjust schedules for work, study, sleep, etc.

Performances occur at various times throughout the year. There is usually plenty of time to plan for these, which frequently happen on weekends. Not every student plays in every performance,. There are two types: group performances and recitals (solo) performances.

what are the costs? Are there scholarships?

In general, fees at Westec are about one-fourth of industry standards. There are three tiers of cost based on ability: Beginning level $50 monthly; Intermediate level; $70 monthly and $90 Advanced level. It is possible to receive even more financial assistance; in all cases, financial assistance is based on regular attendance.

Why is music an important part of a child’s education? How does it help?

Music changes the brain in ways that we don’t fully understand. What method do we use?

We use the Suzuki Method. We use this method because you do not need any special talent. Dr. Suzuki says everyone is talented because everyone is “talented” enough to speak his or her native language. More about the Suzuki method

Do I drop my child off for lessons or do I need to stay?

You cannot drop your child off and leave. You will need to stay to make sure your child is picked up as soon as their lessons is completed.

What if I never played an instrument?

It is actually an advantage to have never played an instrument. Parents of young beginners will receive lessons themselves. And in the process of following your child throughout their progress, you will learn what you have to know to supervise home practice.
